Motiva is a new breast implant maker in the USA market – the first in 12 years. Motiva has been used in other countries for over a decade and recently got FDA approval here. They are generally firm and have micro texturing. Here is a link to the Motiva web site if you would like to read why they think that’s a good thing. One application Motiva is advancing is breast implant placement in the above muscle plane with a “sub-fascial” technique. I, with rare exception, place implants dual plane (partial sub muscular). Most plastic surgeons use this approach, but I am willing to keep an open mind for the patient who is interested in being above muscle.
